How long it takes to get the EAD receipt?

Can anyone tell me how long does it take to get the EAD receipt?
Mailed form to INS on 1/20/04, it's been 3 weeks, haven't got the receipt yet.

In my case the receipt never came.

I called lawyer, she says she needs to get the number from cancelled check and then call INS for receipt.

I called INS and they took the details and promised to send the receipt. However INS told me if I have receipt number from cancelled check that is good enough and I don't need anything else. INS representative was nice and convinced me that receipt is just for tracking and I should not worry about.

The receipt never came.

EAD came when we expected it.

So - dont worry about receipt.

Hi There,

I also believe you will have approval before you get your EAD. It is possible that is why you did not get the receipt but being hopeful did not help me.

I applied on Dec 8, 2003 (ND) and got EAD at home on Jan 23, 2004. (Friday). The dates match with previous EAD. I am not going to lose any days or does not have wait either.

Have not seen better response or better work from INS before :)

EAD is for my husband,

since we can't be sure that he will be approved when my is approved (I sure hope so), so we went ahead and applied for his EAD renew anyway. Just to be on the safe side.

stones I think ur GC is on the way before ur EAD approves..

I send my EAD renewal application to Texas by express on 2/4, on which day my file transfered to local office. I received the receive notice on 2/9. It is amazingly fast. I do not know if they will transfer to local office or not. Base on by lawyer and customer service of BCIS Taxas should not have my file anymore. have to wait and see what will happen next.
