I just heard that my case forwarded to a officer at 8/12, does anybody know how long it will take for the officer to a make a decision of the case? Thanks!

To frantic and dengdeng

I asked help from congressman and his immigration law assistant informed of this today

god, you are Feb RD, and you already ask help from congressman!

They are probably lying, how can it be such coincidence that you asked them to inquire, and your case get assigned. It's probably VSC's lies to stop congressional bombards, same as clueless123's case.

To dengdeng

if you look at the current progress, we got many cases (RD 1/2002) approved. Thinking about it is a queue, first in first out, 1/2002 cases moving out, and it makes sense that 2/2002 cases are in the queue. I could be wrong, but let's see.

your case could well be assigned, I'm just surprise at the date,
and everytime someone called BCIS, they always tell you will assign or assign today. Sounds weird and fishy

FIFO is a myth with BCIS, don't count on it.

Many of us have heard one way or another that their cases are forwarded to the adjuncdicating officer either via Congressman or BCIS IIO. Not implying that they are lying but just don't put too much hope on it. Not wanting to water down your enthuasiasm but painting a realistic picture. Just hang in there and have faith!

You are right that many 01/2002 cases are approved but let's not forget that are cases that fell through the crack and did not have any status which are as far out as 08/2001 (I may be wrong here on the time frames). So, let's hope that your case is not one of those that fell through the cracks.

Cheers,

Although there are some unlucky people suffering from abnormal long waiting, the major stream is FIFO. It is very easy to say "be patient", but in practise, this has been very challenging.

Let us help and support each other to pass through this tough journey.

have a good weekend!

If your information

is correct..you will get approved by end of this week...ofcourse if you don't get RFE or it is not a complicated case...like multiple visa status etc

assigned to officer means nothing. According to BCIs, my case has been assigned to an officer in May. Some assigned in Jan still not approved

Yeah right!!!! mine was assigned in Dec-02 and so far nothing! just heard that 2nd FP was issued but even after a month no news about the notice neither did my lawyer received anything, I guess we are just nothing to them, but i bet the day you lose your jobs the next day you will get the RFE for employment letter......
