How long is the Medical Exam Valid?

Hi Everybody,

I would like to know how long the medical exam is valid. I submitted my 485 package to San Jose local office which did not require medical exam at the same time. I am expecting the interview soon (2-3 months). I have a situation where I may have to do the medical exam now and keep the record with me for submission at the interview. Is it necessary to do the exam after I receive the interview letter or I can do it now and keep the record with me for some time? When does it become invalid?

Please let me know if you have any experience regarding this matter.

Thank you in advance.

We were told by an Immgr officer that te med eaxam is valid for 10 months. Our office didnt require exam with the initial submission but we have already done that not knowing that. However I am pretty sure I met people in the forum who have done the med exam over a year and a half ago but when called for the interview weren't required to submit another one. Really depends.
Probably you'll have enough time to schedule the med exam after you receive the interview letter. Having read other members' experince in the forum it seems that the letter usually comes at least 1 month in advance before the assigned interview date.

Thank you for your response. It gives me some assurance at least. I am planning to travel outside USA and if the interview letter comes, I am worried that I may not have enough time to do the medical exam, that's why I am thinking of doing it before I leave the country.

You are good to do it now since you are expecting the interview letter soon. Go ahead and have fun during the trip :)
