How long is it taking these days even to get a receipt date?

Hi All
I was just curious to know how long is it taking these days even to get receipt dates for 485, EAD or AP after filing those. Getting 485 approved seems like a loooong target but at getting EAD and AP lets us a little flexibility and that too we can start counting days after we receive the receipt dates .
Also I wanted to know how far off are the receipt dates usually are from the date of filing. So for example if the filing date is Aug 15th 2007 when will even we get a receipt date and will the receipt date be close to Aug 15th or will it be close to Sept 15th or something?
