How long is it taking for FP notice?

Hi All,

I am just wondering how long it is taking to get the first FP notice these days?
Our 485 RD is March 8th 2006 and we still have not got the FP notice. My wife is planning to go India in few weeks.
Normally how many days gap between the FP notice and actual appointment?
Is it possible to postpone the appointment (once we get the notice) if my wife have to definitely travel?

Is there any difference between FP and Biometrics notice?
