Where you go depends where you live.

San Jose, Santa Cruz, Alameda county go to
SJ.

Everywhere else in the bay area goes to SF.

SJ gives you a card for longer than 3 months.
SF gives you a card for 3 months (but I got lucky
and got one for 4)!

i m not sure

but i think you can go to either one.is there any form that we have to fill up and take with us. i heard last that we have to be there by 2am in the morning with 6 pics and $100 fee, etc. etc.

Harman thanks for trying to help but ... please do
not give advice unless you are sure.

You cannot got to either ASC.

Read my earlier email. San Francisco will turn away
people who do not fall under their jurisdiction.

You do not need 6 pictures at SF. You do not
need to pay $100 if your EAD app has been
pending for over 90 days.

You only pay the $100 if your EAD has already
been approved and you still want an interim one.

Interim EAD

You don\'t need to take any forms. Just get the copies of receipts (485 and EAD) from your lawyer and just keep a checkbook in hand just in case they ask fro those $100. My lawyer adviced me so. Last week I had gone with my wife to get the Interim EAD from SJC. It\'s a breeze. Just that gong at 3:00 AM in the morning is painful. They didn\'t charge my wife any fee and gave her an 8 month Interim EAD. Read my post in " EAD, AP & FP status for May 2001". Also no photos are required, they take their own.

Hi Bongo..
 about $100 fees.
even if EAD is approved, you do NOT have to pay $100 fees.
A close friend of mine got interim EAD , valid for 3 months, at SFO.
His EAD was already approved and HE DID NOT HAVE TO PAY $100 fees
 for getting interim EAD.

thanks guys, for the info.

i live in fremont(alameda county), but my lawyer\'s office assistant asked me to go to sfo. could she be wrong?

Igot it from SFO

and it was valid for 3 months.

But don,t worry you would get your permanent EAD within this three months and it is valid for 1 year.

If I remember correctly, interim EAD is issued for a valid
period of no more than 240 days.

Alameda county falls under SF\'s jurisdiction.
I actualy live in Alameda county. I should have
said Santa Clara County in my earlier post. Sorry, I should check
my own posts more thoroughly so
your lawyer is right. Please read our experiences
of FP at SF on Ciba\'s wonderful board.

Regarding $100 fee. When I went to get my interim card,
the second INS clerk at SF checked my application to see
if it had been approved. She told me that if it had,
I would need to pay $100.

Thanks to all

sorry if i posted something incorrectly. actually, i got that info from other posts in the past. i would have been mistaken.
how about the timings. For sfo too, do we have to be there by 3am.
thanks again.

Don\'\'t need to get there by 3am

Harman,

Please read our FP experiences at Ciba\'s site.

Many of us got to SF at 9am, 12am, 10am and were
out by 4pm.

I got there at 8:45am and was out by about 1:15pm.

Don\'t kill yourself getting to SF at 3am. SF is
damn cold during daylight, you\'ll freeze to death
at 3am!!!!!
