how long for receipts for I 485

HI all

I had filed the I 485 through my lawyer about 6 weeks back. We still have not received any receipt from the CSC. Can you advise me as to how long it takes? I was thinking of using the AC 21 portability option 6 months down the line, but I do not know at this time when my PD would be!!

Please advise.

Normally one should get the receipts in about 4-6 weeks from the date of application.

Also it is advisable to use AC21 to change jobs only after I-140 is approved and 180 days are spent on 485!
