How long for passport request?

Guys,
I am about to submit the requested documents along with ROLF This week. I have already done my meds in oct-04. Just sending the FBI cards, ROLF and Bank statements now.

Just want to find out how long it is taking now a days to get the passport request? Please let me know.

Since you are sending your FBI clearance report now, it really depends how long it takes them to do the background check on you. It really depends where you lived since age of 18 and your nationality. Some say that it takes 3 or more months but then again there were spousal cases that got their PR within 6 months. You're getting there, just be patient. Hopefully you'll enjoy Candadian summer.

I am an indian national. I was here in US from about 6 yrs. Since I have sent the documents now, lets wait and see how long they takes. Will update the thread once i get the request. Thanks.
 
Got Passport request

Yesterday I received request to submit passports. My file was transferred to NY in Feb'-04. In Oct 04 they waived my interview and asked for FBI cards, ROLF, Medicals ect. I submitted them on Jan 18th 05. And I got passport request now.

Now do I need to send passports to NYC address stated on the Request Letter? Or do I need to send them to Buffalo Address.

Can some one please clarify.

Congratulations! You will need to send your passport to the NYC address mentioned on your passport request letter.
 
Status of my application

Is it going in the right track?

I did not get a request to submit ROLF yet. I was asked to submit bank statement, copy of H1B, Police clearance from India and USA, letter of employment, and medical. I submitted all except FBI clearance in Nov.

I submitted my FBI clearance on Jan 20th. I still havent got request to submit my passport. Have they cancelled my application?

Please let me know. Thnx

Can you tell me if New York ever updated your eclient status.

I am a few weeks behind you and my eclient status was recently updated to say "medicals have been recieved"

I am anxiously awaiting the passport request from New York.

Probably you need to wait for a couple more weeks to get the request for ROLF ect. But I am not sure. May be you can fax a status request to CIC.

Thanks Jahmal. No NY never updated my eclient status. It just said "Medicals have been recieved". Nothing else changed. All of a sudden I got this passport request and I am excited:)

A quich question, What instructions does New York give for passport stamping, Can I have friend in New York submit the passport for me and collect it with the visa same day?

Not sure about that Jahmal. They didnt mention anything on the letter that we can get it done personally. So I am not sure. They just asked to send the passports along with 4 photos for each person and a self addressed return envelop. Thats all.

I submitted my FBI finger prints in Jan, 2005 too. Does anyone can tell me how to get a eclient status? I am anxiously waiting for passport request.

I am not sure whether your file is in Buffalo or NYC..But mine was in NYC and I got the PP request about 4 weeks after I submitted the docs.
