How long for IBIS name check?

The IBIS check itself takes about 30seconds to complete (unless of course it comes back with a hit).
 
Can some one answer following question please-

1. At what stage this name check is done?
Before FP, after FP, close to approval, OR no sequence(independently any time before approval)?
2. Does name check has any validity period like FP?
3. Would there be any change of status or LUD when name check is issued and when name check is completed?
 
Let me try ...

As far as my experience goes, it was much before FP. My 485 RD is May 2003, Name check was completed in Aug 03, and FP was in Mar 04. Can't say anything about LUD, cause this registering system wasn't even there at that time. I believe, USCIS requests name check as soon as the case is assigned, then the FBI takes its time. Name check is required just once and valid till the case is adjudicated, if I'm correct. It's the IBIS check (internal USCIS name check) that has a validity of 90 days.
 
With IBIS they essentially check whether they have any open (CIS) warrants on you, whether they have picked you up at the mexican border before, whether you have a final order of removal under a different A-number etc.

I don't think it has anything to do with the FBI or your fingerprints. They will perform it for example while they give you an interim EAD if it hasn't been done before.

first of all thanks for the useful info , yaar i was interviewd at washington Dc office , oct 25th 2004, same problem , name check , one more question , i am i 245 case , can i still travel on AP while theses idiots do name check , which i have no worry i know i am clean , plz advise me

Of course you can travel. If you are a 245i case you just run a considerable risk of beeing turned back at the border and getting slapped with a 3-10 year re-entry ban.

If you are a 245i case, you are probably well advised to wait at least until you have your passport stamp, better even to have your plastic card.
