How long does it usually take to get Packet4?

My lawyer mailed the packet 3 paperwork to the NVC at the end of May 2005. Any idea when I should expect to get packet 4 based on past experiences?

You still have a lot of time.

NVC reviews P3,forwards to consulate, interview is scheduled, and then you will get the P4.

It usually takes 3-4 weeks to review P3 and another 4 weeks to receive P4. The second part is with respect to CP at Montreal. I am not sure how much time it takes for other consulated. Did you check your case status on NVCs' AVM, 603-334-0700. Assuming you or your lawyer haven't received any letter from NVC since May, I would think your P3 review went fine.

I called the NVC this morning and talked to the operator. They said my case was completed on May 17, '05 and that I won't get the P4 till they get some new visa numbers. I never heard of this before but apparently they're out of visa numbers and waiting for a new list of numbers and they don't have any idea when they'll get it. Has anyone run into this situation before or heard of it ?

You have not mentioned which category you are in : EB1, EB2 or EB3.

Since NVC talked about visa numbers, you are in a category that has already retrogressed (EB3).And hence you would need to wait till your Priority Date becomes current.
