How long does it take to get the Priority date letter from USCIS?

I applied 2 weeks ago for the N-400 citizenship application, the check was cashed earlier this week according to my bank account but no priority date letter yet.

How long does it take to get the Priority date letter from USCIS?

If a USCIS letter got lost in the mail, what is the remedy then? Is there any other way to check about what USCIS is sending an applicant besides the letters in the mail?
 
Wait at least a month before you start panicking :) I know it is easier said than done. I was/am in the same boat.

I received mine from Nebraska center in about 3 weeks. It took about 1.5 weeks after checks were cashed.

Now from my other question "If a USCIS letter was lost in the mail, what is the remedy then? Is there any other way to check about what USCIS is sending an applicant besides the letters in the mail?"

I know it may be hard to answer this one but I hope someone here may have an answer.

It would be highly unlikely that both your "Application Received" letter and "Finger Print" Letter are lost in the mail. So, just relax.

There is a online status page for all application but it is highly unreliable. If you wish, you can try hand-written numbers from front of your cleared check. Thats essentially your tracking number (It usually starts with EAC, LIN, WAC, etc).
 
Since mid-May NSC has slowed down dramatically for NOA and FP scheduling. I believe some service centers had formed a task force to prepare for the 200,000 temporary visa processing if the Democrats-Bush's grand bargain amnesty had passed. Additionally since retrogression from all EB categories comes off 1st July they were busy clearing old EB 485s. In July they will be flooded with some 40,000 odd 485 applications from people whose priority dates were as back as 2003. This is after PD moved to 2002 last month for some countries.

In short just relax:) I too am in the same boat and should have finished my FP, but I have not received a FP notice either even after more than a full month since PD.

Please make a signature with your mailed date etc, so that applicants to follow you can estimate their own processing dates.

Thank yoiu again supercomp, I am not nervous yet, but just aksing some basic questions :)

I tried to look at the tracking number on the cashed check but the handwriting is not legible.
 
I also applied on 6/18 from Fremont, CA in CSC and check has been cashed (see my sig, I will be updating will all events). Yet to receive any notifications, yes, I think we applied in a busy season with the fee increase.

Since we applied at the same time frame let us update each others from time time about the progress of our N-400 citizenship applications if you do not mind :)

Remember this important tip:

Some postal employees will not deliver a letter if your last name does not appear on your mailbox. So please ensure that you have your last name on your mailbox.

Also wait at least one month before panicking.
