How long does it take to get approval letter from VSC?

Hello

According to the AVM in VSC my I-140 EAC-01-092-XXXXX case
was approved on Aug 16 (RD Feb 1, 2001).

But my lawyer says he has not received the approval letter
from INS VSC. Generally nowdays how long it takes to get the
approval letter in lawters hand after approval. The lawyer says
i cannot apply for I-485 & also do my medicals for I-485 till
he receives the I-140 approval letter.

Is anybody in the same situation.
