How long does it take them to START processing if package is delivered?

Hi,

My wife and I got married on October 1st of this year and filed I-130 and I-485 concurrently. I mailed the entire package to Chicago Lockbox on 12/4 and USPS tracking said it was delivered on 12/7. However it has been almost 2 weeks and I still did not receive any sort of NOAs. I included a G-1145 electronic notification form with the package.

I am just wondering how long do they actually start processing it once they "receive" the package? Is it being sorted internally? Or is it because its near year-end and they are more busy than usual?

I am afraid that it's lost and I would have to file all over again?

Thanks

Nothing you can do about it. Yes typically in a few weeks you should be getting notification however unfortunately at this time you can do nothing because you really have nothing to track it with. Give it a few weeks. What sometimes happens is that when the application is incomplete for some reason, instead of issuing an RFE, they return the whole package. Have they cashed the check/money order?

Patience although I know its stressful.

It depends on how much backlogged they are. When we submitted our paperwork 3 years ago around this time it, I included the G-1145 also, and it took about a week and a half to get a notification from them by email after they "received" the package. We then received the paper receipt notices in the mail the following week. Even with a G-1145 there is still the chance that the email and/or text message may not be sent out. I recently sent a package to a lockbox and I though I put down my cell phone number to receive a text message and my email address, however, I only got an email.

Thanks guys,

Is there ANYWAY I can try to follow up either through USCIS or the postal services? If my package is lost somehow I would need to do everything all over again...

How did you pay your fees? If you paid with a personal check, cashier's check, or a bank issued money order you might want to check with the bank to see if it has been cashed.

I found the following information on USCIS website:

I filed my application at a Lockbox facility over 10 days ago and have not received a receipt notice. Who should I contact?

Email us at Lockboxsupport@dhs.gov. Include the form number, receipt number (if known), applicant name and mailing address. Do NOT include A-numbers or social security numbers in e-mails; or call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Thanks to everyone that's been helpful! I actually got emails and texts from USCIS last night and t says my application had been routed to the National Benefits Center... anyone knows what that is? I thought there's only Vermont, Nebraska, California offices. after some research this Center used to be the Misouri office?

The National Benefits Center used to be called the Missouri Service Center. It is located in Lee's Summit, MO.
