I am not sure how long it takes but please specify what kind of petition is pending and what will you file (spouse of USC or LPR). I recommend keep the petition and when either one gets approved, just cancel the other one.chills said:okay.. I'm looking into filing my papers with my soon to be wife but first I need to get my current petition cancelled.. does anyone know how long it takes for uscis to handle a petition cancellation request?
chills said:the first petition that was filed for me was a petition by my mother, who is a legal permenant resident, I am now soon to be married and me and my spouse are looking to file forms i-130, i-131, i-765 & form i-485
I was told before that normally you cannot have 2 existing petitions going on at the same time and that I should cancell the first one that was filed for me before started filing the above stated forms with my soon to be wife
chills said:thanks for the information but how confident are you that ur statement is true...
so basically I dont have to write a letter asking for a cancellation of my mothers petition?
