How long does FP come back to INS? Can't help stop checking online status

Remember last time FP1 took a day or two to show up, like this:
Current Status:

On October 25, 2002, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received, and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further action is needed, or when a decision is made.

This time haven't seen anything after a week, so start worrying what happens to FP2.

BTW, is FP the same as FBI name check? If not, do you get a seperate notice? Thanks.

1. Those days are gone. We are seeing USCIS's process getting worse by the day.
2. FP and FBI name check are 2 seperate process. You do not get a notice as it is between the 2 govt agencies (USCIS and FBI). You can inquire with the FBI using the 202 # found somewhere on this board about your name check clearance. It takes them about 3 weeks to respond back.

Good luck.

Is it automatically checked for everyone or only if your name is Osama or Zarqawi? How do you know there's a name check in progress? Thanks

This has been one of the most screwy slowest months. Checked on rupnet and only 52 approvals have been posted so far for this month and only one working day left, whereas the last month had 121 approval postings.

Just to give some kind of idea that how fast backlog reduction is happening.

It is automatically checked for everyone. Your name is run up against a database with names of people who are RED flagged. If there is a HIT then then you go under a review (manual processing at FBI) and if still there are doubts then i think you are stuck until they / you clear things up.

You do not know about this unless USCIS get back a communication that you are RED FLAGGED or you call the FBI to find out (i am not sure of the process)

If your name is not in the HIT list then you are OK and processing of your case will proceed.

It took 17 months for my status to change from FP sent to FP received.
I think it was updated during the processing of my 2nd AP/EAD.

Of course, after 15 months, the FP "expires".

So, two months after it became useless, they took the time to note that they received it. Nice work.

Don't think my name is on any list, just don't feel comfortable not seeing anything on the status site. Anyway, maybe the magic word will turn up before anything else.
