How long does FP clearance by FBI takes

Hello friends:

I think I am the oldest case on the forum (RD/ND 4/01). I had FP done on 3/17/04 (2nd) and the response to RFE was received by USCIS on 3/5/04. I checked with the FBI and they still have clearance for the previous FP done 6/02 but not the latest one. Please let me know how long does it usually take for FBI clearance. Are background checks a part of FP clearance now and if so, how long does that take.

its good news that atleast u know that ur case is live and had some progress .

all I learned from threads that atleast 15-20 days... for resume the case...... but online status may be or may not be updated......... so don't worry about it... whatever online status shows...........

My wife and I did the FP on 2/27/2003, and the status on USCIS web site changed to "FP received" on 3/7/2003.
 
14 days in our case

My wife and I did FP January 12, 2004. Status Online for both of us stated that: "On January 26, 2004, the results of your fingerprint review...were received..."

Glad to see your case moving. I have been following your case because it seems I will have the same fate. What worked for you- call to 1-800 number, or contacting congressman/senator, or faxing expedite request to TSC Director? I would like to know.

My case was filed in Aug 2001 and FP done on Jan 2003. FP will expire in a month or so. I don't know what to do. Some suggestions from you will help.

Guys, I have done FP on 3/18/2004 and my status did not change either, It still says the application has been rxed and bla..bala

How many days does it take for the online message to change after the FP is done?

GKHAN, how did you check ur FP status with FBI, please post the details on how to contact FBI

No FP notice for 2 years, 6 months.

Finally rxed my FP notice in March completed my FP on 3/18

My details are as follows:

RD: 4/2001
ND: 4/2001
1st FP: done 6/2002-cleared by FBI in 5 days. (expired in 15 months)

Called senator’s office and spoke to the immigration case specialist in the last week of January 2004 after INS processing time was past my RD. He contacted them and told me that FP needs to be done again as they had expired and that it can take 2-3 months for the notice to be mailed to me (to my utter disappointment). Two weeks later, my lawyer received an RFE and the response was mailed and received by INS in 2 weeks. It was the 1st time in 3 years that my online message had changed from application received to Documents (RFE) received. FP notice was received and FP done 2 weeks ago and I called FBI yesterday and they have been cleared (processing completed as they call it). I just don’t know what else the INS needs. Waiting desperately for approval.

The FBI # is (304)625-5590. Give them you’re A# and they will tell you the status. Best of luck.

I think contacting the senator/congressman’s office is the best way, at least by my experience. Ask them for the immigration case specialist and explain your situation. They will only help if TSC processing time is past your RD. Best of luck.

Gkhan, thank you for the FBI number, I called them up and found out that my FP has been cleared and sent back to INS on 3/26.
Now lets see many years does it take for USCIS to receive and process them
