How long does a GC renewal take?

Hello,

The Green card which is valid for 10 years expires in three months. Form I-90 should be filled out and an appointment would be received for a personal appearance at an office in New York City.

My question is how long it takes to get a new Green card which will be valid for ten more years as soon as Form I-90 has been sent.

I suppose they give you a temp sticker for 6 months for you to stick on the expiring/expired card, you can still use it to cross the border.
