How long can you stay out of country on AP

Guys,

My wife 485 is pending at St. Louis office. She has received AP on Jan 7, 05 & no finger printing yet. After finger printing, she plans to go to India and complete her internship.

1. How long can she stay out of the country on AP

2. What if her 485 gets approved while she is out of the country.

I would appreciate your response

She has to come back before AP expires and she will have to attend the AOS interview too. She won't get it approve without it.
 
Does the AOS interview letter specify dates or should I have to set up appointment thru infopass?
 
You cannot schedule AOS interview through infopass

Your wife will receive an appointment letter in a mail.
The letter usually comes in about a month before the actual interview and will have
a specific date, time and address where she has to go written in that letter, as well as list of things she has to bring with her to her interview.
 
Do you guys recommend that she wait till she gets her AOS interview or can she come back from india after she gets the notice for interview.

My opinion is that she can go and come back when she gets the notice or before AP expires.
