Hi,

I'am new to this forum, but been a regular reader as such.
I have read thru various discussion, and have a query for myself.
One of my friends well established compnay, is ready to sposor my GC as future employee, but at the same time I do not want to leave my current employer, with whihc my friend is ready but we both do not know upto what stage of GC process I can staty away from this sponsorting companys payroll.
All RFE will be answered in my favor by compnay for sure, so with this scenario can anybody tell me for sure that for how long or upto waht stage I can stay away from his payroll.
I also read in this site, that I ned not join sponsoring company till I 485 is approved, but after I485 approval, what is remaining in GC processing its done right ?
please advise.
thanks
Prashant

I think you should join the sponsoring company as soon as possible after you get the GC (your I-485 approved). An ususal 2 weeks notice to the current employer might be ok.

If you use AC-21 you do not have to Join. Check AC-21 forum on I-485 section you will get an over all idea.

thanks for the reply.
ohh so according to you, if I invoke AC-21 i do not have to join at all.But in that case will there be any issue with citizenship filing later on, bcoz I heard that if we do not work for sponsoring employer for atleast 6 months INS doubts our INTENT and thus creates problem.I do not knwo pls advise.
Also consider for a while say, I join the compnay and compnay after a month layoffs me(as I mentioned I have an understandign with that company), then in that case will I be safe saying that I had intent to work but compnay could not continue with me due to some reason.
pls advise.

thanks
Prashant

The intent question will not arise because AC-21 says change in intent allowed after 180 days pending I-485. As for working for sponsoring employer is since your AC-21 employer will take the charge of sponsoring responsibility you need to work for him for specified time ( one year or six months?)
