How long can FP be postponed?

Is it possible to postpone FP? My 140 and 485 application was filed yesterday (06/22/04) in VSC and am planning to get married by Jan 2005. I have heard that FP can be postponed by 3 months. is it possible? How long can FP be postponed?

i rescheduled FP, will inform about results

I am very close to getting my GC approved ND 06/18/02. I got FP notice for 07/08/04. I sent a reschedule request because I need more time to get married, and did not show up for FP. I hope it will be ok, I will post any developments for my case. I have my fingers crossed.
