How long before Receipt date

My application was received by USCIS laguna niguel CA office on 3/28.

So far I have not received any receipt date and my check is also not cleared yet.

Can someone share their recent experience of the time its taking to get a receipt ? Also what happens first - the checks get cleared or you get receipt first ?
 
Mine was received in early/mid Feb & no recepit yet ( its early April now !!).

I guess they are waiting for illegal immigration reform & Congress to apportion funds before acting.
 
I don't think there is any pattern as such !! Many strange things happen .....
After I filed, within 10 days, I got my fingerprinting notice. Another 10 days later, after I even completed my fingeprinting done, I got the reciept notice !!
So, there you go .....
 
receipt with exception after TWO weeks

see my signature below! I received my receipt notice exactly in two weeks after they received my N_400. I hope this is helpful although I filed at TSC. good luck to you all!:)

There is a slowdown at CSC. Start following some trackers on this forum, you can probably get an idea of the process.
