How long before i can apply for citizenship?

Short history:
04/2004- married to my wife ( GC holder )
06/2004- submitted I-130, approved
08/2006- wife applied for a citizenship
10/2008- wife became a citizen
10/2008- submitted I-485
05/2009- received my GC

Can i apply for citizenship right away?
Should i wait 3 years after receiving GC or after my wife became a citizen?

You need to wait 3 years, you will be eligible to apply in Feb 2012 if still married at that time.

Both. To become a US citizen via marriage you need to be married 3 years to a US citizen AND be a permanent resident for 3 years. However, you are allowed to apply 90 days before completing 3 years as a permanent resident.

..and the US citizen spouse has to be a US citizen for 3 years before one can file.
