How long are the Fingerprints valid?

I did my FP Jan2002.
I still have not heard anything from INS.
When do these FP expire? What should I do?
Do I need to contact INS.

You can only call FBI to see if they have send the results to INS. That's all you can do. After that, you cannot initiate anything on your own about FP. INS will let you know if it expires and they need new ones. Once you give give FP, get EAD and AP, all you have to do is forget your case for few months before INS gets in touch with you by sending RFE or send approval.
