How long are RFEs taking these days?

Hi fellow web-lurkers, any idea on how much time is VSC taking these days after the submittal of RFE responses? I haven't been to this site lately and am out of sync with the statistics. My lawyer just sent the reply back to VSC yesterday (they asked for current EVL, two months paystubs, and two years W-2s and tax returns). Hoping they work on it ... my RD is almost history now, May 2003!!!

Great!

Thanks Guys! My PD is July 2001, so hopefully something soon. Here is my info:

PD 07-2001
Labor AD 04-2002
I-140 AD 04-2003
I-485 RD 05-2003

Hi shaf

Didn't u include the EVL, Tax Returns, W-2 and pay stubs when u filed for
I-485?

Also what year tax returns did they ask for?

EVL was certainly included with I-485 ... but no W-2 or tax papers (are they compulsory for I-485 applications?). The same lawyer (from a bigshot immigration firm in SF) submitted similar I-485s for many of my colleagues and they all got approved without RFEs. So not sure what triggered it ...

Meanwhile, I changed employment in Oct 2004. An H-1B withdrawal letter was submitted from the company ... though they kept the I-140 intact and gladly gave me a copy of the whole file. Is it possible that the H-1 withdrawal led to the RFE for new EVL? I am working with my EAD now.

Also, can anyone shed some light on whether using AC-21 to another state (outside VSC) will trigger a transfer or not?

I got REF on Jan 10th (not yet received the letter). I changed employer last year and my new company atterney filed G-28 last month, think this triggered REF

365 to 540 days ?!!

VSC has received my RFE reply and has updated the online status. But the message now says that it is taking "365 to 540 days" to process such cases. What on earth is going on? Any recent experiences by anyone? Did you all get similar messages after submitting RFE responses? I would appreciate your response.

I gave a call to VSC rep. He told me that, my case is in hold, due to they are not satisfied with RFE response, which was sent by my attorney. I was working for Company A and Company A merged with Company B. The acuisition was happend in year 2000. I had H1 with Company A and filed GC on Company B. My attorney didnt apply h1- amendment, after acquisition. USCIS approved 5 approvals earlier and they didnt issue any RFE to them. but suddenly they issued RFE to my case.

to Kmvp

Kmvp,

How did you find out that your case is on hold? After how much time
did you contacted UCIS after responding to RFE?

Thanks
