I 140 just approved, and going forward with I485.
I\'d appreciate it if someone could ask a couple of questions
1. roughly, how long AOS is going to take at CSC
2. why most people apply EAD and AP together with I485, what
are the advantages...
3. what is FP stand for

If you want to apply later, you need I485 reciept notice. Which itslefs take 2-3months

EAD is employment authorization to keep you in status even if you are out of H1. I think it is a must
to apply for EAD along with AOS-485.

AP- Advance Parole is a permission to leave the country and come back whiel AOS is in process. It will
be a good idea to get AP if you think you need to visit your home country while AOS is in process. You
CAN NOT leave the country while AOS is in process without AP.

FP- Finger Printing: To capture your identity with FBI.

I think 485 is taking around 4 months if your application goes well without any queries,

Lax man, AOS is not taking 4 months now, that seems to be like this 2 months ago. Now the situation has changed, INS coming out with 245 cases, delays in mailrooms because of the contractors and things like these have messed up that continuity. Sad to see, a friend of mine got his AOS in 2 and a half months 3 monhs ago...
