There is no timeframe or deadline for stamping. However, if you stay abroad too long after approval (for example, more than 6 months) it can create trouble for you - because your perm residency starts from the day of approval.
Secondly (and most importantly), assuming your GC is employment-based, staying too long abroad can raise question about employment status too (hence the validity of GC).
