How late in I485 you can add spouse ?

Is there any limit before when you can add spouse to your I-485 process ? Can I file wife's I485 after getting an RFE and before repling it ?

I was under the impression that dependent's AOS can be filed anytime before getting getting your approval. Am I wrong ?

Any feed back will be truely appreciated.

Theoretically, u can file u'r wife's GC just before getting u'r GC approval.
But since u can't control when u will get the approval, so filling asap would be the best option.

You specified some options and they are all valid ways to curcumvent u'r restrictions.

Basically if you are married before GC approval , you can also use " follow-to-join" option for your spouse after your GC approval . But if there is a concern of maintaining legal status for the spouse in the country ( meaning you are running out dependent visa time), then one should file the I485 ASAP.

Again as always , confirm with a lawyer.

Yes the person has to be physically in the US, meaning the person should have an valid I-94

You only have to be married before the GC approval occurs.
Your spouse does not have to be present in the US to be able to use the "follow-to-join" option. It's just that "follow-to_join" may also take a while( around a year) . Will you be willing to wait for that long away from your partner ?
