how is the status for EAD?

what is the status for EAD?

Hi,
one of my friend's in-laws went to embassy for visitor visa, and they submitted every thing including EAD card and 140 approved mailed and 485 receipt and other documents from check list.but embassy people rejected they plea as they can't understand what is the status? Did anyone faced this kind of problem ? or can he sponsor any one on EAD?

any one can throw some light on this issue ?

If he (your friend) is maintaining H1B status, why he had sent EAD/I-140/I-485 details to get visitor visa?. He suppossed to send only H1B related docs.
 
ok he doesn't have h1 anymore, he is now on EAD and adjust of 485. so he send the EAD and pending 485 but said they don't know what is the status for EAD?
 
My parents went last week for visitor visa and they got it. I wrote my status as EAD and given the EAC Number. I think they know what is EAD and what is 485. Because they do councilor process at embassy .. so I assume they knows all these status.

If the previous visa that you were on when you filed the I-485 is now expired (no matter if it was an H1B, H4, L1, TN, TD, F1, B, O, E, etc) and your I-485 has not been adjudicated yet, then you are now in "I-485 pending status" a.k.a. "AOS" a.k.a. "Adjustment of Status" a.k.a. "AOS Pending".

You can use any of those terms to describe your status. EAD is not a status. Its just a document that gives you permission to work (i.e. Employment Authorization Document)
