How important the credibility of previous w2 when apply for I485

Hi

When i applied for my 485, Attorny asked me to furnish last 3 years of w2. But i had only last 2 year of w2.I was jobless for one full year and hence didn't have w2. some of my friends are advicing me to produce a fake one. Actually one of my friend has done that 2 years back and he got his plastic card. According to him, the INs will anway as for the previous w2s at the last stage of your green card( ie from 2 years from now) and by thta time i will have real ones to produce. The one i am missing is for year 2001. So after 2 years i won't need that.
But i am wondeirng how often will they check the credibility of w2s...

First, never produce any fake documents. If they find out, you are in serious jeaopardy. Don;t volunteer information either. They don't ask for all W-2 in every case. Usually CIS is only concerned about your status since last legal entry. You might have to look into filing 245 to take care of any prior out of status issues - check with your lawyer.

Your friend is NUTS !!

Not only do you take the risk of having your application thrown out, but also of being jailed for providing fake docs !

Don't risk it - its not worth it.
