How important is police clearance certificate from another country?

Hi everyone.

How important is police clearance certificate from another country? I have stayted in Poland about six years ago for nine months. I have been trying to get a police clearance certificate from Poland, however because of the general inaptitude of the embassy staff and language barriers, I have not received a reply to my application (which was sent two months ago). I need to leave for India in another week to attend my CP interview. Does anyone have an experience about attempting CP without getting a police certificate? Do you guys think it is worth a risk? Is it good enough to show a "good faith" attempt at obtaining these documents?

thanks

Fairly important

If the consulate has required you to obtain the police clearance certificate, I would suggest that you obtain the certificate before departing for India. If it is not possible to obtain it, have your lawyer contact the consulate first to check if they will be satisfied with good faith attemplt

ML,

You do not need a PC from Poland since your stay there was less than 1 year and you do not live there anymore.

"Police certificates are required for consular processing for those currently living in a country for 6 months or longer or for those not currently living in a country, but who did live in a country for more than 1 year."
