How frequently is case status for extension of visa updated

Hi,

I filed for extension of tourist visa and got a letter in the mail saying extension is denied. But the online and phone case status still says decision is pending. Does anyone know how long it takes INS to update the case status? Do they update case status weekly, daily, monthly etc? Sometimes do they forget to update case status?
 
Sorry to hear the denial news. Which Servie Center is it? Did you E-File it?

Did you send the I-94 original, any property /Home proof in home country?
