My lawyer said that Bush's proposal to be unvield this wednesday can make All Illegal immigrants legal with 3 year residency-permit and right to work. After that they can apply for a green card where 3 year will be counted as resindency requirement when processing the GC and citizenship..

I wish i was an illegal instead of an Asylee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is called luck. Some people get a rough shaft in this life and others are born with a silver spoon. Accept the reality my friend.

First of all, let us wait and see the contents of the proposal. We do not know what it really contains--sources insist to the AILA that it is NOT a blanket amnesty.

Second, Congress needs to approve the proposal--which is not assured and probably takes a long time.

Third, presumably any beneficiary must have been here for a number of years as of today. So assuming everything goes well, by the time their immigration journey is finished, they will have been a long long long time.

I would not put too much faith into what your lawyer told you--especially if that lawyer also told you earlier that the adjustment schedule would move up by two years!

Gilbert, the last time there was an amnesty, a lot of people abused it and adjusted their papers despite being there for a short time. So there will be jerks who would abuse this proposal as others did during the Regan's era.

Hi
I was here when Reagan gev amnesty, 1988.I was legal.
I could not do anything.than.Many people tried to make some fakes but I don't think that it worked.
Amnesty was for all immigrants.
If you were in US more than 6 Y's and you could proof that you was working all the time you could apply for GC.
If you was in country for more than 13y's you could apply for citizenship. I remember this.
Now I read somewhere but can't find the link.
Pres Bush and some senators proposed to legalize all illegal 13 million, immigrants that are in the country
If they are more than 3y's and can proof that was working, and they still got work, they can became legal and continue to work. and the ones that are here more than 6y's they can apply for GC.of course if you have criminal record forget it. than I read in some other link that pres Bush stated that ;
" We should not forget people who are legally in US and are trying to gain immigration status (GC) for many years ,it's not far to them. "
But there is other senator that is trying to stop everything.
My attorney is not tallking nothing, about it ,hi just asked me for payment.I don't know what to do. I am here 16y's is going to be 17 y's prety soon I hope this deal will do something for me.
There are people longer than me that are trying to get GC..
I think they just want to make all legall ,so they can pay taxes and have some blu cards wich will be called >>Guest worker<< card. Well we will see..

That was true and the BCIS/INS knows it. For this reason, HQ has asked officers to be especially vigilant when these legalized aliens apply for citizenship.

You were here for over sixteen years and you have had no change to legalize your status????
