How early is not too early for obtaining the documents?

Hi All,

As I mentioned in my other post, my interview date is July 28th. My question, is how soon to ask DMV for records, IRS for transcripts and Selective Services letter and employer for employment proof letter.

The reason being, especially with DMV record, what if one obtains a letter too soon and then ends up getting the ticket, what happens in that scenario. Same thing applies for the employment proof letter.

Will the IO complain that these records and letters are too old, if I start accumulating in May?

Thanks,
Akapoor

Do we need employment letters for Citizenship!?
That is not even asked I think...any situation or reason they ask?

Most of these documents are not needed and are not asked for. Some people like to take them to the interview just in case, but the case usually doesn't materialize ;) I would guess that if you want to take all those documents, it wouldn't matter if they are a few days old. Traffic ticket information is not very important. If you get a ticket after getting the DMV record you can still provide the information to the IO during the interview.
