How does Service Centers calculate the EAC #?

Hi folks,

I was trying to calculate how EAC number was calculated. Basically I tried to compare notice date and EAC # ( I used the information given immitracker.) And I accepted 10/01 as the first day of the processing year and counted only the work days. It worked for the initial cases but later it shifted. Do you have any idea how it is calculated.

Sometime there are federal/state holidays that you may not accounted for. Also check the section on processing times at www.immigration-law.com which gives good examples of how to read case dates.

It says:

001: The first day of the fiscal year, 10/01/FY. It only counts so-called computer working days excluding week-ends and holidays. Generally the ending date of any FY is 265, 09/FY.

I saw some EAC numbers more than 265 (like 279 ). Does this mean that they are working overtime? Very distant possibility though... *
