A bit more context.
My wife passed her naturalization interview 2 weeks ago. At the end, the interviewer asked her if she had any travel plans. She told him yes, in 3 weeks, as her mother was ill and had to leave the country for 2 months. The interviewer gave her green card back and a result (pass) notice and said if you get a naturalization notice in the mail just call and ask them to reschedule.
We got the notice yesterday (scheduled for next week) and called the USCIS number to reschedule. The line was horrible and could barely hear anything. We had to ask the rep to repeat a few things. The rep on the other end of the line was clearly frustrated by this. At least got the call ID confirmed, although we don't know what to do with it. The rep asked what date she was returning and then mentioned something about "30 days" and "hearing from us(?)", but we couldn't make it out clearly. We couldn't ask more questions ant the call was over.
My wife thinks the rep said USCIS would call her in 30 days to schedule the appointment with her then.
I think the rep said we would hear from USCIS (via mail) in 30 days about the rescheduled naturalization date, which should be after she returned.
I do not believe USCIS (or any government agency) would ever call people (especially if she was going to be out of the country), they only communicate over mail. So, here is the question:
Has anyone ever had experience with rescheduling the naturalization? What was the 30 days? What do you use the "call ID" for?
Thanks
