How do you get a human to ask about your case?

I called the NCS and couldnt get a human I tried to enter my reciept number
online by phone and it wouldnt take it and I couldnt get a human ..I am so frustrated ...HELP ANYONE!!!

you could try to make an info pass appointment

poohsmum- After you check status on your application, using the receipt #, wait till you here all options. One will say, press "*" to continue, (dont remember what the number is ) after that you will be placed on hold.

Thats the problem it wont take my reciept number

but you obviously have a receipt #-correct?
how do you key-in the receipt #? starting with the letters, correct?

example .. MSCXXXXXXXXXX?

yup it will take my I-130 reciept number but not my I-485 UGH!!! My interview was 10/27/06 stuck in name check and would like to know whats going on...I only have sundays and mondays off

Well, you dont necessarily have to enter the receipt # for 1485!!! you can key-in your i130 or any other receipt that you have , or the system will take, then continue to get online with an agent, and then give them the receipt # of the 485. they will help you.

when i called, i keyed in my receipt # for advance parole and then also asked them the status for ead application. No harm trying before you can make a trip for the infopass.

You don't have to necessarily enter a receipt number at all. I was only issued my I485 receipt number in March 06 and I have been calling since I applied in August 04. Just press the option for not having a receipt number and you will eventually pass through. Alternatively, from the main menu, select 2 and then 1 which will take you to the change of address option which connects you straight to a customer service agent, thats what I usually do.
