F1 visa on my passport expired. I applied for I-485 through marriage and I am waiting for the interview notice. I already received I-131. How can I use my I-131?
When I'll travel out of the USA, do I need to go to the consulate in my hometown and ask them to issue me some sort of visa which will allow me to go back to the states? -- or -- Should I keep my expired F1 visa on my passport and show my I-131 document to the immigration officer when I come back to the USA?
I just don't know how it works. All answers are appreciated, thanks!

Your F1 visa has nothing to do with your I-131. What you must have is an unexpired passport to travel and your I-131 approved. That's it.

Anyway you are not in F1 visa you are in AOS, leave the stamp of your F1 visa there because that is an original document and probably the officer at the time of the interview will check it. And it suppose that you should not damage your passport.

The only thing that you need to show at the POE is your passport and your I-131. S

Good luck,
