I am getting my landlord to sponser me, even though i pay him rent he said he will help us out.
Thing is i am not sure how to do it, before my wife earned enough but she isnt working anymore.
I am working and intend to add that to the household income.

Which forms do i need to fill out?
do i need an i-864a and why?

The Affidavit of support paperwork should be included in the i-485 paperwork for Us citizen filing for a spouse.

Or you can call the USCIS toll free number to order the file.

sorry, i have my AOS interview this week so i need to know how to file it with another sponsor, what is the I-864 used for?

Ignore Chills...

If your income is sufficent to take you over the 125% minimum income requirement mark, you should complete I-864A, your wife needs to prepare a new I-864 and take it to the interview with you. You would not need your landlord to be a joint sponsor in this case.

If your income does not meet the requirement, your landlord could be a joint sponsor and he/she needs to fill I-864 if he/she meets all other requirements. Your wife should also fill a I-864 eventhough she does not earn enough.

Pl read instructions on I-864 for more details.

I want to get a clarification on my case.

I am the sponsor to my wife's immigrant visa via DCF. My income is sufficent to take over the 125% minimum income. Does my wife need to file the I-864A too?

thanks

My wife doesn't work as of now, is that going to be a problem, i did see that the petitioner had to be the sponsor.

OC, Your wife does not have to file I-864A. Your I-864 is enough.

As long as the 125% minimum income requirement are met (via the primary sponsor OR a joint sponsor OR using your own income), USCIS should not have a problem with your wife not having a job.
