How come CSC is so fast??

When I look at the CSC discussion board, I see people (from India) getting approvals with RD/ND in 08/00s. How can one service center be so fast compared to the others? If the other service centers are that slow (only processing Oct \'99 cases), CSC might gobble up all the immigratnt visas available for India/China in one year before the other centers even get to allocating them. Say CSC issues 100 visas in a day and NSC only does 20 visas in a day (assume only two centers for now). Then on the 83th day, 10000 IV would have been issued for Indian-born people. Without S.2045, this would have made them stop issuing any visas for the rest of the year. But CSC would have managed to issue 8300 visas and NSC would have issued only 1660 visas. Given that similar no. of applications for GC is made at both the centers, NSC will have no hope of catching with CSC. Every year, the gap would widen and probably in five years, NSC would be five years or more behind CSC compared to one year behind now.

I don\'t have the answer to your question but what I do know is that California has been agonizingly slow the past few years. Congress and other gov\'t bodies have been trying to light a fire under their asses. Note also that INS is never consistent. Although NSC is slow with I-485, they had worked on the I-140s at blazing speeds last year. While some people waited 1 year at CSC for I-140 approval, I completed mine\'s in less than 2 months at NSC.

6 months from now, CSC could start slowing down again and NSC may pick up some speed. Who would have thought CSC would be doing I-485s so fast? Who would have thought NSC would work on I-140s so fast all of a sudden last year? I\'m hoping NSC will pick up some steam on I-485s soon. There\'s rumor that it may happen.

Please note down the name of the IIO officer the next time she yells at you and write a complaint letter (could be anoynymous to protect yourself) against the officer to the Department of Justice and NSC center. Whether it does anything or not, we should be proactive in not taking shit from them for all the money we pay the INS to process our cases.
