How can I stay in US during GC application?

I am a British national and got married to a US citizen (USmilitary) in Scotland 1 3/4 years ago. I live in Germany and when my husband came back to the States 6 months ago I followed him. He had spent a year in Korea previously while I stayed in Germany and therfore did not file for a GC then. We had heard that you have to file again after being married for 2 years so he still hasn't filed. It is getting rather expensive jetting to and from Germany every 3 months (tourist visa) and when we finally file, it will still be at least 6 months until I receive the GC. Is there any way I can legally stay in the country until the whole business is done? I heard it is not possible to do an adjustment of status while in the US on the visa waiver program. Is there any other way to stay in the country? I'm afraid I have to do the medical exams in Frankfurt Germany, which would be an awful problem since its 8000 km away from where I am. So what would the procedure be in my case?
P.S. In germany I knew a military couple where the wife was German and had already been in the US for 2 years with her husband. She does not have a greencard yet, as far as I could gather she just stayed in the US. But that would mean risking not getting a greencard at all.
Please help, time is ticking and I'm dying to give my husband a kick the rear to finally apply for the bloody GC :)
Thank you SO much for any help

Hello,

You should take K3 visa. That is a good option.

Yes you should also apply for GC promptly. K3 is given till I-130 is not approved. Two years rule is there but it takes about a year to get GC when your spouse is American Citizen.

If you are in US, you can apply here. Then all your medical and finger prints will be done in US. If you apply from Europe you will have to do these things from there.

I hope it helps.
