How can I find out what DO I belong to?

I still have no idea. There are different kinds of offices. Is "Local Office" the one I need? If so, then Albany NY is the answer.

Sorry, "District Office" == "Local Office". They are sometimes refered to as "Field Office" and in some cases (like Providence RI) as "District Sub Office" (or something like that).

The multiple names are there to keep you confused. Don't worry.

This matter could be complicated in case of smaller LO/DOs. Some smaller LOs do not perform all the functions of a larger LO (and please do not get confused if USCIS website shows certain applications are processed by a particular small DO -- often this is incorrect). To give you a personal example, I live in Delaware. Based on USCIS website my LOs are Dover (capital of DE for those who might have forgotten) and Philadelphia. USCIS website also suggests that N-400s are processed by both Philadelphia and Dover with timelines being about the same.

However my process was as follows:

(1) Applied to VSC,
(2) Got fingerprinted in Dover
(3) Had infopass at Dover,
(4) Had Interview at Philadelphia,
(5) Will have Oath at Newark Delaware (which is inbetween Dover and Philadelphia).

So depending on what you are trying to find out, the answer may differ. I would suggest to ask at the thread for a specifi office to see where people from your area go to for what. You can also call Customer Services, but it is like tossing a coin.

Good luck,
