How can I bring my parents as visitor?

Hello,

My husband is from Iran and he is an H1-B holder.
He is trying to bring his parents as visitors for a month or so, however, we were wondering if somebody could help us with some concerns we are facing.

1-) Can an H1-B holder sponsor his parents, so they can come and stay for 1-2 months?

2-) What are the forms that he needs to fill out for this sponsorship?

3-) Is there any other required document that he needs to associate his forms with?

Any answer to this questions, would be greatly appreciate it!

Thank you in advance!

Browse the site www.immihelp.com and you should be able to find answers
to all your questions.

It shows the list of documents from the sponsor (your husband) and the
visitors (your in-laws).

The answer to your question # 1 is 'Yes'. Once they get their visitor's visa
they can possibly stay here for 6 months.

Re: Tourist Visas for Parents

1) Yeah, they should apply for B-1 tourist visas.
2) When I invited a family member here, I just printed an invitation letter with my name and address that I made on my computer and signed it under penalty of perjury basically saying I live at this address, I'm inviting her here to stay with me, and so on and so forth. But she is a citizen of a visa-waiver country and didn't even need a visa. It might be a little harder for a citizen of a state that is considered a state sponsor of terrorism who also needs a visa.
3) Check with the American embassy/consulate closest to the parents and ask them what he needs to do to help them get their B-1 tourist visas.

TIP: The longest stay that can be authorized is 6 months, which will be done at the point of entry at the border. But, the longest visa can be a 10-year multiple entry visa. Ask for one if they plan to visit several times over the coming years. Thought it might be hard to be approved for one if you're a citizen of state sponsor of terrorism. This is also something to check with the local American consulate/embassy.
