How about an e-mail campaign to the RNC?

Recently I've received a couple of mail messages from RNC - Republican
National Committee. In both messages they called me 'Dear Fellow
Republican'. Obviously, I cannot be a Republican since my GC has not been
approved yet. The first message was regarding "Census of the Republican
Party" - it is basically a questionary about what grass-roots republicans
feel about the current republican President and Congress majority doings.
In the "from" field of the message there were the names of high
republican officials :

Senator Bill Frist, Majority Leader
Congressman Dennis Hastert, Speaker
Congressman Tom DeLay, Majority Leader

The second message was from Mercer Reynolds,Finance
Chairman of RNC, about importance of the fund-raising in this election year
and the threat from the Democrats, which "have pledged nearly $500 million
in soft money to run negative advertising against our candidates".
Both messages asked for financial contribution, though it was clearly stated
that "contributions from corporations and foreign nationals are prohibited".

This is probably a broadcast message sending, using the data from
consumer reporting agencies (may be the same way I get credit cards
and other commercial offers).

Personally, I have sympathy to the Republicans. Indeed, as a hard working
professional, I do not want my tax money to be spent on government
give-away programs. That is what the Democrats are inclined to do.

I want to reply to the messages saying that I would love to support
the Republicans, but I cannot do so since I am not a US citizen.
The sooner I get my GC, the sooner I'll become US citizen, the sooner I'll
start to vote for Republicans. Also, I want the RNC to pay attention to
the fact that there is quite a large group of people (several hundreds of
thousands) - the EB GC waiters, which are potentially the Republican supporters.
This is my point - the majority of the EB immigrants are the potential Republicans.
I want to ask people here : am I right ?
Indeed, unlike any other groups of immigrants (family based, GC lottery winners, refugee,
asylee, "refugee" , "asylee" (I hate the last two) ), the EB immigrants should be the most
loyal Republican supporters. One may not personally like some of the Republicans but the
Republican cause must be very appealing to the EB immigrants.

May be it is worth starting an E-mail campaign to the RNC (www.rnc.org)
stating the above thesis ?
What do you guys think ?

-->Sorry, Wrong.

Dunno?

I thought it was the case that most new citizens are likely to be Democrats, but whether or not the general trend is true, probably the most interesting question is whether they vote or not. I would focus your campaign on saying that immigrants are much much more likely to vote--then the question of what the general trends are becomes less relevant--what they need is actual votes (remember voter turn out in the US is around 35% of the eligible population).

I am not exactly sure this is an effective approach. I feel this is more of a shot gun approach as compared to that of using a scalpel. Usually the people who respond to such messages are the low level interns working out of the companies hired to do things like mass mailing answering emails on a generic level.

I would prefer to actually send emails/faxes directly to the congressmen/senators which reduces the levels of bureaucracy that lie between your message and its expected destination.

As far as the question about supporting Democrats of Republicans, it is a matter of personal choice. By nature Immigrants usually support Democrats, as far as EB applicants and "government give-aways" are concerned, it is an issue between your conscience and you. I am not sure that between spending 200+ billion in Iraq (Republicans) is a better bet than spending the monies in educating and providing gainful employment to YOUR poor (Democrats). This is not the time nor place to discuss politics, so closing the discussion posthaste!
