I have been posting mesgs here for quite some time about my case
RFE repld on 4/11 , avm updated on 4/17 for rfe rcvd.
EB2 , OCT 99 , current and all that good stuff..

I called an IIO this morning to check the status and a guy picked up and said that my case is on hold. He checked something on the computer and said , Oh yeah the I-140 is misiing or not approved. Looked further into something and said looks like your I-140 was not approved. So I think your 485 app will be denied. I tild him I am positive that my 140 was applied and approved prior to filing 485. He asked me the EAC no of my 140 and did not have that handy. Said that is the reason why the approval is pending. Will remain in the pending status for 6-9 months ! DAMN !I SAID ! HOW CAN THAT HAPPEN !

Anyway, in a state of shock I called my company who were very nice in promptly faxing the approval notice.

So I called again about an hour later. Somebody picked up the phone after being on hold for 30 minutes. This lady was very nice. But she knew that I had called earler.(For those who always wonder if thats true). She checked the file and indeed the 140 EAC no. was missing . I gave them the no. She verified the 140 and said .. Hmmm Let me guess why its on hold.. Maybe there are no visa numbers..(The usual visa availabilty stuff .. I told her EB2 has a current status for visa and mine was 2 yrs back.. She said maybe Finger prints .. She put me on hold Checked finger prints .. they were fine . She was out of guesses at that point . She said .. Hmm . let me ask my supervisor and put me hold .. 5 min larer she come back and says .. supervisor has no idea why its on hold , I will have to talk to the officer who put it aside. She was nice enuf to ask my phone number and said I will call you back and let you know after 30 minutes.

Talked to my friends and debated over the issue of the whole concept of an IIO calling back. One can only wonder what that means...

But, Sure Enuf , this GREAT IIO lady(I am truly indebted to her) called back after 1:30 minutes and said they were able to find everything , after talking to the IIO, they were able to locate everything they needed and said the file is current with all the paperwork. It has been reassigned to an IIO and should wait for 2 weeks before I can call them back...

Anyway , was quite an experience and thought I should share it with u guys !

Wait ... wait and wait ... I hope it ends someday ...
Good luck to all of you out there .

whew!!!

That\'s one hell of a roller-coaster ride you had today...definitley not a pleasent one I am sure...

Also, tells us all that one has to be pro-active in keeping up with this stuff...

That IIO (who called you back) is absolutley a very nice person I think...sort of makes you have a little bit of faith in the system...

Anyhow, Best Wishes with the rest of the process...hope you will get
the approval sooner than later...

Thanks for sharing the story. I hope it won\'t happen often. Also I was impressed that you could always get through that VSC hotline when you needed to. It seems to be an impossible task to me!
