Hoping against hope..

I know some ppl might laugh at the idea..but this whole thing just simply doesn't make any sense to me...
Also, we have not seen any new update "directly" from USCIS...

Only 2 months ago they were of the view that theCut off dates for EB3 will be around June 02 & for EB1 will be "current" till the end of the year...
Now, HOW COME, almost overnight (within 2 months),..they recalculated & come out so "OFF"...Its just simply not possible that someone can make SUCH big mistakes with the numbers.....UNLESS there is big change in some RULES...

so hoping against hope....

How many of you think that it an error in tha data which might be corrected soon???

I, for one, do not think that this is an error.
First off Dept. Of State sets these numbers based on inputs from USCIS (& other things)
I don't think DOS would screw up so badly and put out an erroneous bulletin that causes so much of a whiplash reaction.
Am pretty sure they would've done a lot of due diligence before putting out something of THIS magnitude.

I too hope that they made a mistake - but logic suggests otherwise. I hope it was just a case of being too conservative - but again none of us have access to the data which was used to come up with these numbers.

I have a feeling that the only thing that can help us recover from this hole is some legislative actions/amendments.

Good luck to all of us !

Also, as you see on Murthy.com

"They do not anticipate making changes for November 2005, unless the data they received from the USCIS is in error regarding the number of pending I-140 filings that were ready for approval, as well as other information that goes into establishing cutoff dates.

My optimism also prods me in to thinking that the setting of such really-backward looking priority dates might be a knee-jerk reaction by USCIS to stem the tide of I-485 applications. Remember that USCIS now approves labor in record time. The visa dates are set by DOS with data from USCIS. It's highly possible that USCIS needs 3 or 4 months to take stock of the situation and report the ground situation to DOS. In order to do this they shouldn't be encouraging any more applicants. We should see some forward movement in 2006 and this is reinforced by

I sincerely hope that you are correct and I'm wrong about this issue.

Earlier this year, I thought it was kinda bad that PDs went back all the way to 2002 ... LOL -- now 2002 sounds really wonderful -- I wish we could come back to 2002 soon :)

Only the Govt can make time travel so easy ;)

Same Old Problem!

I don't believe there is a mistake. There is a simple explanation to the problem. The Labor Certification process was improved with the Backlog reduction centers and Perm. Now, many applicants moved and applied for their I-140 and I-485. So this makes sense.

We can only hope that because the situation is so bad now, this will cause change similar to the one happened at the LC stage. They should've thought about this ahead of time!

I think the situation being too bad is not such a bad thing because it is raising a big huge flag that the system needs improvement. If the PD stayed at 3 years back, no one would've paid attention and things would've dragged for too long. 7 or 8 years is just a rediculous date for PD, so I'm sure something will happen in the near future.

Stay positive guys!

I started thinking that this is the trick so that you will get fedup with GC and withdraw appplication and they wont have to give you Greencard.
