Folks,

Following ISD update:

....

Approval notices issued again on I-485 applications

INS previously sent requests to FBI but did not require a definitive response in order to adjudicate an application. A definitive response is now required. INS is working with the FBI on full data field name checks. Until such time as the results of these name checks are available, service centers are continuing to process I-485 applications, but cannot issue final decisions. Tapes are currently being forwarded by INS to the FBI for the name checks. As responses are received with cleared names, INS will be able to issue decisions. As of mid-November 2002, the name check requests forwarded to the FBI will be automated from data entry. Claims 3 required a software enhancement in order to receive an automated response from the FBI; the enhancement should be in place within a week or so.

is true and hope to see lots of approvals 'soon'

Thanks,

This is a rather old news. Apparentaly INS now is clearing RFE cases. I am very pessimistic that they are going to work on any new apps soon.

I don't want to poke fun at you

Your posting is quite funny. It invites the question of where have you been the last 3 months. Apparently you have been posting, so you should have been painfully aware of "the situation" with the FBI checks.

Furthermore you should have read that the problem was officially solved quite a few weeks back, but nothing happened (apparently due to TPS processing). The last week saw a flurry of approvals, which apparently was unknown to you before posting your message (probably you had it ready for a month, but forgot to hit the submit button before today).

I don't mean to offend you, but your posting is more than a month late, and your last comment about lots of approvals is funny considering how many approvals appear on the first page of the thread where you posted your message.

Last, don't worry, INS can say that they have solved all their IBIS, FBI or whatever and still be slow to approve 485 for whatever other reason. I hope you get your approval soon.

Thanks for posting.

I am a regular visitor of this site, and well aware of the GC related developments at INS since 2001.

I was just pointing at the following statement in that update, and hoping that it is ture,

".....Until such time as the results of these name checks are available, service centers are continuing to process I-485 applications, but cannot issue final decisions ...."

I can very well understand your frustration and pessimism, with regard to GC approvals these days.

mbm come to think of this, if they were actually continuing to work on 485's, then with this removal of freeze we should have seen a flood that should have cleared out atleast 3-5 months of backlog ...

it didn't ..

.. thats another sack full of shit lies that INS gave us.
