Hong Kong residence card?

Would appreciate insight on Hong Kong residence card. Currently separated from wife (originally from Hong Kong) who received permanent residence card, but not US citizenship. She may go back to Hong Kong to renewal her residence card, but come back to the US. By doing this, I assume she is basically saying her residence is Hong Kong. Would this action have any affect on her US permanent residence status?

What about her current situation? She has her Hong Kong residence card that is valid. For her to receive her US permanent residence card, did she have to change the status for her Hong Kong residence status?

Not necessarily. Get divorced and get on with your life.

I don't think it matter. HK resident card is a proof that she
is a "citizen" of HK. For immigration purpose, USA treat
HK and China differently anyway asd if tehy are different country.
