Homeland Security going to affect approval time?

Unchanged - based on these astute arguments :
1) Slower : HOW can it POSSIBLY be any slower ?
2) Faster : :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D BullS#%t !!!

Sure .. it can be slower.

If in the past we saw I-485 adjudication took 8-11 months, nowadays it takes more than 12 months. Who knows, after the transition to DHS on Jan 24 it will take more than 18 months?

For example:
Do they have to change the letterheads, labels, logos, etc. on each and every single document issued after Jan 24? (because technically, and maybe legally, the name "Immigration and Naturalization Services" does not exist anymore!)

What will happen if there is reshuffling in the upper management?
How if employees are re-assigned to different positions?
yada.. yada.. yada....

One good part of this new DHS restructuring is the pilot program to reduce backlogs in adjudication. We don't know yet how this will fit into the picture...
