I am working on EAD with one of the Big bank. I am in process of buying home. I applied Home mortgage in my company. They asked me about my legal status and I have given I-485 receipt, EAD copy and explain my GC is pending. But they are keep asking me for visa status. And I have explained told, I came in USA on H1B visa. But they are still not sure about my status.

Anyone have experience on this?

What you submitted as status proof is not understood by Lenders. What they would like to know is weather you are a resident of US Or Not. You may answer as NOT being a resident. This doesnot matter in Loan process if you have a good Credit History and are putting a good %age as down pmt.

As a Equal housing lender, they cannot refuse you a loan and cannot give you some rediculous rates.

If you are not locked in , you might try some upscale lenders.

Loan

I have given EAD copy first but they asked me GC. I explained them I am on AOS and give I485 receipt. but they asked me for visa copy. I explain again, I do not have visa now. I am on EAD and pending AOS. I locked rate and I also got pre-approved letter.

I am working in Same company where I applied loan.
