Going by the number of posts on this forum related to 2nd FPs, movement of recent processing dates (EADs and APs) - it does look like as if there is quite a flurry of acitivity at the Service Center.

Maybe the 6 month turnaround will actually be more than just another unreachable target.

I'm intrigued by this flurry of activity also. What are other people's sense of the activity levels?

In my opinion, CSC's issueing a lot of 2nd FP notices doesn't mean anything for EB I-485 backlog reduction.
The number of actual approvals (and RFEs) is still very small.
It takes 8 months for CSC to process 3,000 EB I-485 cases, and CSC has been receiving 3,000 applications every month.
